The capybara is the world’s largest rodent and is native to South America. These gentle, highly social animals spend much of their time in and around the water, where they are excellent swimmers. At Wildlife Safari, our capybara Dixie shares her habitat with Katari, our maned wolf. Despite being different species, the two have formed a wonderful bond and are often seen relaxing and exploring together.
