Waterbucks are large antelope native to the grasslands and wetlands of sub-Saharan Africa. They are excellent swimmers and stay close to rivers and lakes, where they can quickly escape predators. Males are easily recognized by their long, ringed horns, while both males and females are well adapted to life near the water.
